Behind the scenes of every successful healthcare company are individuals dedicated to creating change in the world.

At Kindred, we have a passionate team of individuals who continuously plan, create, and innovate to move the company’s mission of providing holistic and quality healthcare services for all women, forward. Today, we want to celebrate three of our Kindred spirits—the women who have created an impact on not only our company but women’s healthcare as well.

Through streamlining clinical processes for both our virtual and physical clinic, successfully planning (and producing) educational and entertaining healthcare content across our social media channels, and initiating, planning, executing, and closing projects, these exceptional individuals have left an indelible mark on the company and the lives it touches.

CLAIRE CHINGKOE (FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE)

Claire Chingkoe, Kindred’s Social Media and Content Associate, manages Kindred and Anna's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Claire has been with Kindred for a year now—greatly contributing to the boom of its social media presence and reach. Her day-to-day tasks involve shaping the brand's image, devising strategies to enhance brand awareness, and creating health content that resonates with an often-overlooked audience. She also contributes to other types of content, such as copywriting for clinic designs, ads, and events.

According to Claire, what drew her to Kindred was its mission of making healthcare more accessible for women. Before joining the team, she didn’t know how to begin her healthcare journey—she never had an OBGYN consultation, never talked to a psychologist, and never even had an ultrasound. When she found out about Kindred, she realized that she wanted to be a part of a team that would make healthcare for women much more accessible.

“Working at Kindred has been so much fun, especially with the team we have. I feel lucky to be working with brilliant people who support you every step of the way. When you’re working towards something bigger than yourself and get to play a role in turning the future you want into a reality, it becomes all the more fulfilling,” says Claire.

Claire's proudest achievement is building Kindred's branding and voice—making it recognizable as the first hybrid women's health clinic in the country. Social media plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for potential patients, and seeing the audience grow has been a significant accomplishment for her.

Unsurprisingly, Claire is not only an employee but is also a patient at Kindred! In her interview, she emphasizes the importance of championing women's health and encouraging others to prioritize their well-being. As her job has normalized health discussions among her circles—thanks to the information she's exposed to and like-minded people who share her views—she is then able to connect with a community that shares the same experiences as her.

When asked about the most significant lesson Claire has learned from her Kindred journey, she emphasizes that information is power. “Staying educated about your life, your health, and your history, can really impact your present and future. Sometimes, you don’t even consider the routine check-ups until it’s too late. You might think it’s boring to be responsible, but what Kindred aims to do is make it standard and non-negotiable for all the girls who want to live their best life,” she says.

NURSE YAM (CLINIC LEAD)

Nurse Yam, as the Clinic Lead at Kindred, is responsible for ensuring a positive and comfortable patient experience that aligns with the Kindred brand. Her role involves overseeing daily online and in-clinic operations, as well as the development of new products and services. Managing a team of six nurses and two administrative staff members, she streamlines the processes of both the virtual and physical clinic—ensuring that they run as smoothly as possible.

Nurse Yam joined Kindred in March 2022, attracted by the opportunity to work for a company dedicated to women's health and well-being, with a focus on raising awareness and promoting education in this area. Her day-to-day activities vary—reflecting the dynamic nature of her role. Not only does she handle Medical Affairs endorsements, but she also conducts department meetings, addresses patient, doctor, and medical staff concerns, and ensures that the clinic equipment and supplies are functional and complete.

According to Nurse Yam, working at Kindred is both challenging and fulfilling. While there are hurdles every now and then, she still gets to see the value of her work in her day-to-day interactions with patients. “Every day, I see the impact of the strategies we've implemented through the many stories of the Kindred women who have started to take charge of their own health.” she says.

Yam’s most significant accomplishment at Kindred has been building a high-caliber and dedicated team focused on patient experience. Through this role, she is not only able to champion women's health by emphasizing the importance of regular doctor visits and providing correct information about vaccines and treatments, but she is also able to motivate her peers to do the same as well.

When asked about the most significant lesson Yam has learned from her Kindred journey, she emphasizes how Kindred is responsible for giving the best care possible to its patients. “Here at Kindred, we are able to offer at least similar competent levels of preventative care to our patients,  increase access to care for a more diverse patient population, and to improve doctor-patient relationship satisfaction. That as health care providers, we are able to help and give the best care possible to our patients.” she says.

KEIKO LU (INTERN)

Keiko Lu has been a Kindred intern for over a year now. She started her Kindred journey as an Operations Intern—developing and refining our processes, processing payments, managing our Shopify store, and resolving operational challenges. However, as the team expanded and created new departments, she sought out other opportunities within the team that could hone her other professional skills. Now, as a Project Management Intern at Kindred, Keiko is responsible for ensuring project success by collaborating with the team to meet project requirements and adhere to timelines.

Keiko was initially motivated to join the company due to Kindred's advocacy and her personal interest in contributing to women's health. “What prompted me to join Kindred was Kindred’s advocacy and my interest to join a team uniquely working towards listening to and providing for women’s health.” she says.

Her day-to-day routine at Kindred involves participating in various meetings, including one-on-one sessions, team stand-ups, cross-departmental meetings, and external collaborations. She describes the work environment at Kindred as fulfilling—filled with supportive colleagues who are eager to help and mentor.

Keiko’s most significant accomplishment at Kindred has been successfully handling important tasks entrusted to her. In her role, she champions women's health through projects aimed at improving accessibility and holistic healthcare for Filipina women. Promoting women's health both inside and outside the healthcare realm, emphasizing safe spaces, and celebrating women's achievements to create respectful and empowering environments have then created a big impact on her life.

When asked about the most significant lesson Keiko has learned from her Kindred journey, she emphasizes how it is enjoyable to wear many hats in the company. “A significant learning I have realized during my time in Kindred is that it can be fun to wear many hats! It really pushes you to learn and find out what you enjoy working on” she says.

Every day, these Kindred spirits strive hard to destigmatize women’s health and make holistic and quality healthcare accessible to all Filipinas in each of their departments. They work diligently to ensure that every Filipina has the opportunity to take control of her health and well-being.

As Kindred continues to raise awareness, expand its services, and advocate for women's health, its Kindred spirits also continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of Filipinas, one step at a time.
